Donor Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy PROVIDING OPTIMAL CONDITIONS IN VEGETABLE PRODUCTION BY USE OF RENEWABLE RESOURCES OF ENERGY Goal
Implementation period August 2008 – May 2009 Target group
Résumé Soil borne pathogens represent one of the most limiting factors in vegetable production. They cause plant damages at all stages of development, from preparation of seedbed until last harvest). Keeping them under control is hard and requires use of pesticides which can cause contamination of soil and underground water. Keeping control is through a use of physical means as steam generators or a technique known as solarization. Steam generators waste enormous amounts of energy which contribute to higher production cost and solarization is a method usually implemented over limited period (June-August).
